Baku. Azerbaijan. August 2. The largest prisoner swap since the Cold War took place between the United States and Russia.
Three U.S. citizens held in Russian prisons have been returned to their country, Trend reports.
Among them is Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. According to a White House statement, the swap was based on complex negotiations between Russia and other countries.
Türkiye coordinated the swap. A total of 24 prisoners were released. Russia released 16 prisoners.
