(ISNA) - Iran's former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps expressed Iran's readiness for signing a defense pact with the Persian Gulf littoral states.

Rahim Safavi said that the defense pact was beneficial for settling a stable security in this region.

"British and U.S. troops are the factors of insecurity in this region, through their evacuation and the Persian Gulf countries unity, the region will surly regain its peace and stability."

He explained that Iran took the first step when the Supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei made a proposal for this defense pact some months earlier and added "now it is their turn to show their will."

He explained that Iran-Arabic countries close relations were against the U.S. interests and added that the American officials have always tried to manifest Iran as a hazard for the region.

Iran's Supreme leader senior military advisor asserted that despite the American's efforts the regional countries were well-aware that Iran had no ill will for the Arabic courtiers in the region.

He while calling the Americans "uninvited guests" said they had to leave the region because it belonged to Iran and the Arabic countries.
