(dpa) - Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani on Saturday denounced the internet release of a film by a Dutch lawmaker.

"We strongly condemn this film," he told the country's Parliament.

The statement came a day after Pakistan's Foreign Ministry summoned Netherlands's ambassador to formally lodge the protest against anti-immigration politician Geert Wilders' film Fitna.

The film mixes Koran verses interpreted as calling on Muslims to attack and destroy enemies of the faith with the video footages of terrorist acts against Western countries, claiming a link between the two.

Several Muslim countries as well as European Union have also condemned the controversial production.
