The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Saturday that it had no plan to cancel or postpone the upcoming World Health Assembly (WHA) despite the spread of the A/ H1N1 influenza, Xinhua reported.
"At this stage, the WHO has no plans to cancel or postpone the World Health Assembly," said Michael Ryan, WHO's director for global alert and response.
"It's a very important opportunity for global health leaders to come together to address the issues around this pandemic and other very important health problems that we face in the world today," Ryan told a news briefing in Geneva.
The WHA is the supreme decision-making body of the WHO. It's usually attended by health ministers of all WHO's 193 member states.
This year's meeting is scheduled for May 18-27.
