Moscow will oppose any attempt by Britain to arm Syrian rebels, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday, a day after Prime Minister David Cameron suggested he could veto the extension of an EU arms embargo, DPA reported.
"In our point of view it is a violation of international law," Lavrov told reporters in London after talks with his British counterpart William Hague.
"We have never ruled out anything in the future," Hague said, adding: "Anything we do will be legal and clearly stated to our country and to the international community."
