(Itar-Tass) - Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov told a Tuesday press briefing that he would meet with Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili next week, reports Trend.

We will discuss the current state of the bilateral relations, which is certainly abnormal, he said.

We think that tensions in the Russian-Georgian relations derive from the policy of the Georgian administration. If they change the policy, the atmosphere of the bilateral relations will also change, he said.

Sanctions are not the right definition for measures Russia has taken on Georgia, he said. These are specific measures taken by specific agencies because of debts or unregulated issues, he said.

Bezhuashvili will visit Moscow to attend a session of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization and meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the meeting sideline.
