The leader of Syrian al-Qaeda affiliate the al-Nusra Front was injured in regime shelling near Damascus on Wednesday, an opposition monitoring group said, dpa reported.
Abu Mohammed al-Jaulani and a number of other members of the rebel group were hit in the area immediately south of the Syrian capital, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, quoting a local activist.
The report could not be independently confirmed.
