In January-November 2013, Azerbaijan imported 98,108 mobile phones and other devices running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.), for a total sum of $4,197,800, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.
The number of imported mobile phones in the country dropped by 36.16 percent compared to the same period of 2012. Some 153,662 mobile phones were imported in the same period of 2013, the State Statistics Committee said. In value terms, this index also declined by 43.34 percent.
On average 9000 mobile phones were imported monthly into the country. The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms exceeded $381,000, the State Statistics Committee said.
The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD on Jan. 13.
