Georgia increases import of goods from Azerbaijan by almost 4%

Georgia imported products worth of $453.39 million from Azerbaijan in January-September 2014, GeoStat (Georgia's National Statistics Office) said in its report on foreign trade.

The volume of import from Azerbaijan to Georgia has increased by 3.7 percent in a year, according to the report. By comparison, Georgia imported $437.3 million worth of Azerbaijani products in Jan.-Sept. 2013.

Azerbaijan ranks third among the countries from which Georgia imports products. The share of Azerbaijan's export in the total volume of the products imported to Georgia is 7.3 percent.

Georgia imports most of the products from Turkey. The volume of Georgia's imports from this country stood at $1.26 billion, or 20.2 percent of the total volume of import in Jan.-Sept. 2014.

China ranks second with 8.8 percent share ($549.07 million) in the total volume of Georgia's imports.

Georgia mainly imports gas, petroleum products, electricity and other products from Azerbaijan.
