BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. Russia is the leader in money transfers to Azerbaijan following the results of the first half of this year, the Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Samir Nasirov said during a media briefing, Trend reports.
“At the end of the first half of 2024, the top five leading countries in terms of remittances to Azerbaijan include Russia - $287.05 million, Türkiye - $82.293 million, the US - $30.526 million, Georgia - $17.387 million and the UK - $16.135 million,” he noted.
According to him, at the end of the first half of 2024, the volume of remittances to Azerbaijan from abroad amounted to $567.804 million (a decline of 36.3 percent).
To note, the volume of remittances to Azerbaijan in 2023 decreased by 54.3 percent to $1.6 billion.
