Armenia wants to provoke Azerbaijan into retaliation and draw CSTO into the conflict, says editor-in-chief of Day.az

Today Azerbaijan has to fight against the fascist regime which leads Armenia, said editor-in-chief of Day.az Emin Aliyev.

He made those remarks during an interview with “Vestnik Kavkaza”, commenting on the Armenian Armed Forces’ missile attack on Ganja, as a result of which 9 civilians died, Trend reports.

“Indeed, the attack on Ganja shows the essence of those, who we are fighting with, how inhumane our opponents are. In the first Karabakh war, there were several incidents of this kind, for example, Shusha was occupied the next day after the conclusion of the Tehran truce agreement",- Emin Aliyev said.

Thereby, he noted, the history of attacks on Azerbaijani civilian population is repeating itself.

“As for the current attack, I am more than sure that this is another provocation by Yerevan, which is trying to continue to provoke Azerbaijan into inflicting a disproportionate response. That is why, as President Ilham Aliyev just stated on Twitter, the attack came from the city of Vardenis, that is, from the territory of Armenia. This is not the first time this kind of attack has happened. The aim is simple- to provoke our Armed Forces to strike at the territory of Armenia so they can present themselves as a victim and draw CSTO into the conflict. We remember the statements of President Putin that Russia is ready to fulfill its allied obligations to the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the CSTO agreement, but the battles are not taking place on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. Therefore, they attack from their territory to drag Russia into the war ”,- Emin Aliyev explained.

He described the attack on the civilians of Ganja as a war crime and crime against humanity.

"The attack happened despite the ceasefire. Thus, the leaders of Armenia, I mean Nikol Pashinyan, his puppet in the occupied lands Arayik Harutyunyan and their other leaders, showed once again that Azerbaijan is not fighting with a worthy enemy, not with soldiers, but with hypocrites, fascists who are capable of striking at sleeping people, children the next night after 10-hour negotiations, where they literally begged for a truce. 9 people died, almost 40 were injured, including many children. These are ordinary civilians, yesterday they went to bed, and today they woke up from a rocket attack on their house ",- the editor-in-chief of Day.az noted.

He noted that no matter how the Armenian authorities denied their guilt, no matter how they deny the fact of the strike, they will not be able to evade responsibility.

"On the one hand, I am sure that our state and our armed forces will not react to the provocation as Yerevan wishes. On the other hand, I am just as sure that the Armenian armed forces will receive the most worthy response from the Azerbaijani army soon, which will not leave such crimes unanswered", - Emin Aliyev added.

He emphasized that what is happening fits into the standard tactics of the criminal authorities in Yerevan.

“We have seen the same thing since the 1990s. Firstly, Yerevan is trying to win time as much as possible, by arranging negotiations but dragging them out, using this time to regroup, raise military reserves. The calculation is understood: by arranging a truce, Azerbaijan believes that it is doing this with civilized people, not fascists, agrees that it is necessary to take the dead, exchange prisoners, heal the wounded - this is a matter of humanism - but it immediately receives a blow to the civilian population, because the leadership of Armenia does not care about humanism. For 30 years, we have repeatedly come across a similar situation, unfortunately", -he said, concluding that the time to put an end to this fascism in the South Caucasus has come.
