Russian Engineer Nazarov Tanker sailor Andrei Vladimirovich Lyubavin was evacuated by the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry, the Azerbaijani State Maritime Administration said.
The tanker was sailing from the Iranian Enzeli Port to Astrakhan.
The injured was rendered medical aid at a first-aid post in Neftchala. Later he was taken to a hospital in Baku. Lyubavin said after he regained consciousness that he smelt petrol in the oil-pump room. Later an explosion occurred. Lyubavin received injuries to his head and lost consciousness.
The medical examination revealed first and second degree burns. His health is stable.
The vessel is being stop-checked at the Baku Port.
