Azerbaijan President Holds Meetings in Davos

Switzerland, Davos, 24 January /corr. Trend S.Seyidov / The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, is holding bilateral meetings with the heads of states and governments who participate in World Economic Forum which is taking place in a Swiss city from 23-27 January.

Within his participation in the forum, the State Head of Azerbaijan met with the Vice Prime Minister and also Foreign Minister of Israel, Tsipi Livni, Vice President of BP Company, Anthony Eward, Executive Director of SISCO, Jon Chamber. The meetings focused on development of co-operation of Azerbaijan with Israel and leading world companies.

The Azerbaijani President also attends the energy summit in Davos. The heads of the world's large energy companies and the Presidents of the countries supplying energy resources to Europe will be in attendance. Azerbaijani President is expected to make a speech at the summit eith regards to Azerbaijan's energy policy.

According to a tradition, since establishment of the forum in 1971, the heads of largest companies in the world (from oil and finance giants to world news agencies) annually meet in Davos. According to the organizers, in 2008, some 800 representatives of big business will be in attendance.
