Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 July / corr. Trend A.Aliyev / The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Dmitriy Medvedev consider that there is progress in peaceable negotiations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
"We support the rehabilitation of direct talks between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia, held in St. Petersburg on 6 June," Medvedev stated in Baku on 3 July in a joint briefing with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Russia will hence render assistance in search of mutually acceptable decisions. "This is difficult process and we will render possible assistance, whilst there is light progress," Medvedev said.
Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan is for rapid resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of generally recognized norms and principles of the international law and provision of territorial integrity.
