Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, Feb. 9 / Trend , A.Tinayev /
The Kyrgyz Parliamentary Defense, Security, Law and Order Committee approved a governmental project to annul an agreement allowing U.S. troops to use the Manas base on Feb. 9.
Members of parliament reminded the foreign minister that Kyrgyzstan has similar arrangements with the 11 other nations comprising the International Anti-Terrorism Coalition. These countries have adhered to the U.S. Council of Security mandate since 2001. If the U.S. forces leave the base, then these countries can still replace them with their own troops. They advised the FM to prepare documents to annul the agreements with all the countries.
The draft bill will be considered at meetings of all three factions of parliament. Later the document can be submitted to the parliament for voting. This may happen on Thursday, the members of parliament told Trend .
