Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb. 15/ Trend , E. Hasanov/ On Feb. 15, Supreme religious leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhammedov, who paid a two-day visit to Tehran, Turkmen media reported.
"Ali Khamenei, the meeting with whom is assessed as a sign of respect and trust by Iran, emphasized a need for further strengthening of cooperation, the results of which allows to mention lasting will on which fraternal and neighbor nations build their relations," 'Turkmen Dovlat Khabarlari' state news service reported.
"Warm and trustful conversation took place in Ayatollah's residence. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Turkmen President stressed traditional friendly, common religious, historical and cultural ties between Iranian and Turkmen people."
Ali Khamenei wished Berdimuhammedov success in his activity as a head of state and said he is sure that agreements reached during Turkmen leader's visit to Tehran will contribute to stronger traditional dialogue between friends and partners.
