Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the U.S. administration officially decided to arrest him prior to a visit to Washington to attend the UN conference, Mehr news agency reported.
"I was faced more pressures when I was in New York to attend the UN meeting. U.S. officials said they will arrest me if I go there. But I participated at the UN meeting to speak on behalf of the Iranian people," Ahmadinejad said at a speech in Tehran.
Ahmadinejad added that prior to a speech at Columbia University, an American official urged on television to arrest him and undermine his plans.
Ahmadinejad has visited New York for times to attend the UN meeting.
