On Wednesday, another twenty Azerbaijani citizens flied from Egypt to Istanbul by Turkish Airlines plane with the help of the Turkish embassy in Cairo. They will be sent to Baku with the assistance of AZAL representation in Turkey, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev told Trend today.

According to the ambassador, another seven citizens of Azerbaijan will be sent to Istanbul by Egyptian airlines on Wednesday morning, and other nine, who are currently in Sharm el-Sheikh, will be sent to Moscow by Russian "Transaero". Then they will be sent to Baku with the assistance of AZAL representation in Russia.

Tuesday afternoon six Azerbaijani students from Alexandria were sent to Istanbul and then to Baku.

Sunday night, seven Azerbaijani citizens were evacuated from Egypt via a similar route.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev instructed the relevant bodies to urgently evacuate Azerbaijani citizens temporarily living and studying in Egypt due to the recent events in the country. Thus, 103 Azerbaijani citizens have been so far by an AZAL special plane.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt through the Foreign Ministry asks the relatives of citizens who are currently in Egypt to contact them and ask them to urgently get in touch with the diplomatic mission via the "hotline" at 0020108112577.

Since Jan. 25, mass protests have rocked Egypt demanding a regime change. A total of 150 people have died and thousands have been injured.
