Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 May / Trend E. Mehtiev /

There are no disagreements on the issue of state border demarcation between Azerbaijan and Russia, and official Baku hopes such disagreements will not arise in the future.

"Azerbaijan and Russia have no disagreements on the issue of the state border demarcation, and we hope such disagreements will not arise in the future," Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov told reporters on Saturday.

The two countries consider it important to establish the legal framework in this area. Such an agreement was reached by the parties during the recent first meeting of the bilateral commission on demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Russia.

The next meeting of the commission will be held in Baku. The working groups will continue their work prior to the meeting.

The parties have agreed on the major part of the 284 kilometer-long Azerbaijani-Russian border, the head of the State Committee for Land and Cartography of Azerbaijan Garib Mammadov told reporters earlier.
