BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Azerbaijan's Baku hosts the ministerial session of the V Conference of Labor Ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries, Trend reports.
The session started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the V Conference of Labor Ministers of OIC Member States at the event. The text of the address was read out by Natig Amirov, Assistant to Azerbaijan's President, Head of the Economic Policy and Industry Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Adnan Abdullah Al-Nuaim (Chairman of the IV Conference of OIC Labor Ministers) also delivered a speech at the session.
Then, the Chairman of the V OIC Conference of Ministers of Labor and the composition of the Bureau were elected.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev, who was elected Chairman of the Conference, emphasized that this OIC Conference allows expanding contacts of the member countries, as well as active exchange of experience.
He noted the relevance for the OIC member countries of ensuring productive employment and decent work for everyone, youth employment, the importance of digitalization in addressing such priorities and challenges as increasing transparency in the social sphere, quality of services, accessibility and efficiency, and the importance of sharing experience in addressing social issues.
Sahil Babayev also mentioned the reforms carried out in the field of the welfare of citizens in Azerbaijan by order of President Ilham Aliyev, the increase of social payments for the last 5 years in Azerbaijan, the achievements of the DOST Concept, and an extensive program of electronization in the social sphere.
According to him, studying, application, and mutual exchange of experience of innovations applied in each country by other member states is one of the main directions of OIC activity. The Minister stressed the importance of the OIC Labor Center established in Baku in this regard.
OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha talked about the significant role of this conference for the member states and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in addressing the issues under discussion.
