BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. Baku has become an important international platform where the problem of colonialism was raised to a global level, a well-known activist and one of the main critics of French neo-colonialism, Kemi Seba said at an international conference in Baku on "France's Neocolonialism Policy in Africa", Trend reports.
According to him, France tries to make recommendations and assess the state of human rights in other countries while ignoring its violations. French authorities criticize other states, yet they often violate human rights both on the African continent and within the diaspora.
“Baku has become an important international platform to raise the issue of colonialism on a global level. We have come here to continue our struggle for self-determination,” Kemi Seba said.
The international conference on the policy of French neocolonialism in Africa, organized by the Baku Initiative Group, started its work on October 3.
The conference is attended by representatives of African countries (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, and Niger), as well as France and the French enslaved island of Mayotte.
