BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. Neocolonialism is one of the major challenges we face in Africa, Mauritanian journalist Abdarahmane Wone told reporters, Trend reports.
Wone emphasized that Africans must collectively reflect on their self-determination and independence, advocating for a global fight against neo-colonialism.
The Mauritanian journalist also expressed special gratitude to Azerbaijan for organizing such a meeting to discuss these pressing issues.
The international conference on the policy of French neocolonialism in Africa, organized by the Baku Initiative Group, started its work on October 3.
The conference is attended by representatives of African countries (Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, and Niger), as well as France and the French enslaved island of Mayotte.
