BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. On October 4, the appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Rahman Mustafayev was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Trend reports citing Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry warmly welcomed the head of the diplomatic mission of a friendly state - a strategic partner and ally of our country and wished him success in his activities," the ministry said in a statement.
As noted, later, Mustafayev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin, to whom the ambassador handed over copies of his credentials.
"During the conversation, the progressive development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations was noted, some topical issues of the bilateral agenda were discussed. The schedule of the nearest interstate contacts was considered," the statement said.
