The Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan received official letter from RusAl regarding the company decision to launch aluminum plant construction project in the country, Trend report quoting Heydar Babayev, head of the Ministry.
В"RusAl agreed to us saying we are unable to provide new plant with gas and electric energy but just a site for the plant erection. We also cannot guarantee alumina produced at Ganja plant to be supplied to RusAls plant in Azerbaijan only. This is the matter of market relationsВ", said minister.
Babayev also said Azerbaijani government and RusAl might discuss taxation as well. В"We are ready to discounts, but not at governments costВ", Babayev added.
The further details, he said, will be discussed during RusAl delegation visit in August 2006.
В"We are ready to discuss power supply, but at reduced price only. Besides, RusAl can build a power plant itselfВ", he indicated.
В"We have a nice geographic location, it is in their interests. In the future, RusAl can erect an aluminia plant by its own. Or, they can get bauxite ore via port of PotiВ", minister concluded.
