Issue of closing 17 illegal branches will be settled until new academic year in Azerbaijan  Azeri Education Minister

The court process is continuing on the cases of the branches of higher educational institutions of various countries illegally functioning in Azerbaijan, the education minister of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov told journalists on August 11, Trend reports.

He noted that at the moment, discussions are being held on closing 17 illegally functioning branches. Three braches have already appealed to the Ministry of Education and announced about their closing. After this, the same braches may not be involved in the student admission. The cases of 8 branches are considered by the Economic Court. According to the minister, the issues of 17 braches are expected to be resolved by the beginning of the academic year.

Mardanov touched up on the problems of Georgian Azerbaijanis who cannot enter the higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan. He stressed that if this problem takes a massive character, then the Ministry of Education will raise a question before the State Commission for Student Admission of Azerbaijan to prolong the admission time for them. According to the minister, yet this problem doesnt take a massive character.
