CIA Regular Summit to Be Hold in Minsk

The place and time of holding of the regular meeting of the summit of the CIS member-states has been determined, Vladimir Garkun, the First Deputy Chief of the Executive Committee of CIS told journalists today.

According to him, the CIS summit, as well as the meeting of the Councils of Prime-Ministers and Foreign Ministers of the CIS member-states to be held in Minsk in November, Trend reports referring to ITAR-TASS

During the summit for the time being 21 issues to be discussed, told V. Garkun. It is planned to hear the report of the High Level Group on the CIS Efficiency and Prospect of Its Development. He underlined discussion of the Agreement on the Council of

Humanitarian Cooperation between the CIS Countries, and adoption of statements of the CIS member states` leaders on stirring up of cooperation in the struggle against illegal immigration are the other important issues of the forthcoming summit.

During the meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers of the CIS member-states 32 issues to be discussed. Moreover, 22 issues will be of a high degree of readiness, and will be adopted without discussion. 24 issues to be in the agenda of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of CIS.

V. Garkun particularly pointed out that the forthcoming summit will be held on the eve of the 15th anniversary of CIS, in the year which on the proposal of Russian president Vladimir Putin was announced as the Year of the Commonwealth.

Earlier it was expected that the regular CIS summit to be held in Minsk in May, then the middle of September 2006 was called as a preliminary date of the summit.
