On August 18, the President of Azerbaijan signed an order on restoration and protection of the historical and architectural monuments of Baku city, Trend reports.
The document envisages preparation and submission of proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding repair, restoration of outside view, improvement and special lighting. The proposals will be prepared jointly by the Executive Power of Baku City, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Committee for City-Building and Architecture, Union of Azerbaijan Architects and other relevant bodies.
The Cabinet of Ministers was tasked within 2 months to prepare and submit the project of the state program on restoration of historical and architectural monuments of Baku to the President. Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers needs to reconsider the classification on the importance decree of historical and cultural monuments taken into state protection.
