BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 16. In November, the crude oil supply in Iran increased by 90 kb/d, reaching 3.19 mb/d.

According to the data provided to Trend by the International Energy Agency (IEA), this is the highest level reached since October 2018.

Currently, based on Kpler tanker tracking data, the country's oil shipments hover around 1.5 mb/d, a level that has been relatively consistent since May, the agency noted.

The IEA reminded that, before the withdrawal of the former US administration from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018, Iranian oil exports, including condensates, were surpassing 2 mb/d. Talks to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, aimed at easing sanctions, have been stagnant for over a year.

Thus, the agency projects the country's oil output to amount to 2.99 mb/d in 2023, and 3.17 mb/d in 2024.

Although Tehran has expressed its goal of achieving a crude production level of 3.6 mb/d by March 2024, the IEA's estimates place Iran's crude oil capacity at 3.8 mb/d.
