BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. Azerbaijan's gas exports to Europe increased from January through June 2024, the country's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov wrote on his X page, Trend reports.
According to the minister, this figure totaled 6.4 bcm - up 12.2 percent compared to 5.7 bcm in the first half of 2023.
Overall, Azerbaijan's gas exports abroad grew by six percent in the first six months of 2024. Thus, gas supplies from the country to Türkiye amounted to 5 bcm, and to Georgia - 1.3 bcm.
During this period, 2.8 bcm of gas were transported to Türkiye through the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
In 2023, Azerbaijan exported approximately 12 bcm of natural gas to Europe.
