ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 3. Turkmenistan and Japan are exploring opportunities for cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, where there is significant potential for mutual benefit, Trend reports via the Turkmen embassy in Japan.
A meeting between Turkmen Ambassador Atadurdy Bayramov and the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Parliamentary League of Interparliamentary Friendship, Toshiaki Endo took place at the House of Representatives in Japan to discuss the initiative.
The parties emphasized the importance of ongoing Turkmen-Japanese dialogue, which encompasses political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and humanitarian dimensions.
Active inter-parliamentary relations were also highlighted as a key element in developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan. Regular meetings and contacts between the friendship parliamentary groups of both nations strengthen mutual understanding and deepen bilateral interaction.
Concluding the meeting, the participants expressed confidence in the continued growth of cooperation and reaffirmed their readiness to implement mutual initiatives that will open new opportunities for partnership in various fields.
To note, on October 1, a meeting also took place between Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Masaki Ishikawa, the special representative of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Central Asia and the Caucasus, where both sides noted positive experiences in cooperation in the gas-chemical and transportation sectors.
Additionally, on the same day, an online training session was held at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, where Japanese finance ministry specialists shared their experiences in implementing the Authorized Economic Operator program with their Turkmen colleagues.
