Uzbekistan, Tashkent, 2 August / corr. Trend T.Zhukov / Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company (NHC) reduced liquid hydrocarbon production in the first half-year of 2008, Trend correspondent reported from Tashkent.
From January to June 2008, subdivisions of the holding produced 2.417mln tons liquid hydrocarbon (oil, including gas condensate), which is by 5.1% less than the same period of 2007, the Uzbek State Committee on Statistics told Trend .
According to the Uzbek State Committee, production of gas condensate rose by 20.4%, to 1.096mln tons and oil production reduced by 19.3% to 1.321mln tons.
Over six months, Uzbekistan produced 727,900 tons of petrol (rise by 3.9%), 171,700 tons of kerosene (rise by 0.9%), 616,100 tons of diesel fuel (reduction by 13.1%), 265,400 tons of fuel oil (reduction by 32.2%), 109,200 tons of oil bitumen (reduction by 3.5%) and 120,600 tons of liquefied hydrocarbon gas (rise by 7.5%).
The Uzbek State Committee did not publicize the data on natural gas production. Uzbekistan plans to increase natural gas production from 62.74bln to 65bln cu m, Uzbekneftegaz said. In 2007, Uzbekneftegaz reduced liquid hydrocarbon production by 9% to 4.928bln cu m as compared to 2006.
According to Uzbek oil and gas holding, so far a total of 212 hydrocarbon fields, including 113 gas and gas condensate fields and 99 oil and gas condensate and oil fields, have been discovered in the territory of Uzbekistan. A total of 52% of them are under development, whilst 35% are prepared to be developed and the rest fields are under exploration.
Uzbekneftegaz NHC is a monopoly operator of the Uzbek oil and gas complex. The holding was established in 1998 and presently unites six stock companies.
