Iran has published a list of 22 types of products and essential commodities, on which price rise is banned by the government, IRINN agency reports today.

The list of essential commodities include: rice, vegetable oil, sugar, meat, poultry, eggs, bread, dairy products (milk, yogurt, butter, cheese), pasta, legumes (lentils, beans, peas, etc.) and cereals ( barley, corn), tea, dates, potato, onion, tomato, tomato paste, fruit (apples, bananas) and citrus (tangerines and oranges), detergent, steel, cement, paper (newspapers, publications), motor tires ( cars, trucks and buses).

"If committee producers don't increase productivity, market prices will invariable rise," Iranian Trade Minister Mehdi Gazanfari said earlier.

In order to prevent a sharp rise in prices the Iranian Commerce Ministry signed an agreement with producers and ensured supplies of 13 kinds of essential products to the country.
