The Georgian insurance sector has finished the first half of 2011 with losses. It exceeded 700,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.66 lari), the Georgian State Statistics Sgency said.
The insurance sector got profit up to 34 million lari last year.
Insurance companies drew an insurance premium worth $ 188 million lari. The amount of the premium last year amounted to 222 million lari.
