Bavaria offers Azerbaijan high technology

Roughly 50 percent of the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany accounts for Bavaria, head of the International Trade Department at the Bavarian Economy, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology Ministry Ulrike Wolf told journalists on Wednesday.
Baku hosted the Second Azerbaijani-Bavarian Business Forum with the support of the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry and with organization of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and DAWF on Oct.19.
"Bavaria is one of the leading manufacturers of high technology. It can support automation process in Azerbaijan. It is notable that about 50 percent of products produced in the is exported," Wolf said.
She said Bavaria can offer Azerbaijan high technology in the spheres such as environmental protection and medical equipment.
According to AZPROMO Vice President Rufat Mammadov, the decision to hold the forum in Baku was taken as a result of German companies' interest in the country after forums in Berlin and Munich in May.
The business forum presented about 20 Bavarian and about 100 Azerbaijani companies in such sectors as ICT, transport, logistics, medicine, energy, as well as light industry.
