Number of appeals to Azerbaijani credit register service hits over 70 per cent

The centralised credit register service at the Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) received 56,328 appeals in March, CBA said today.

There were 33,029 appeals in 2011 and this number increased by 70.54 per cent.

The registry received 56,181 inquiries from the banks in March. About 147 customers applied to obtain their own credit reporting.

As of late March, there were 1,237,526 borrowers, having information in the credit registry. The total number of credit data is 3,098,040. The number of data on guarantors available in the registry is 447,183.

The centralised credit register service began operating since March 2005. The tariff for a single query on an actual entity is 1.1 manat, a legal entity - two manat. Credit registry does not pursue commercial objectives. Tariffs were imposed to cover administrative costs.

The official exchange rate is 0,7858 AZN/USD on May 29.
