Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has held a session on tourism development in the country on Thursday, the Prime Minister's press-service reported.
Within the session, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev presented the Concept of Kazakhstan's tourism industry development until 2020, which had been developed in order to fulfill Kazakh president's order.
"The key role of the State in the tourism sphere will ensure successful implementation of the concept and rapid development of tourism. This was proved by the experience of Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Mexico, Morocco and other countries," Issekeshev said.
According to Issekeshev, the number of people employed in tourism and related sectors will increase by several times following the Concept implementation.
In turn, Akhmetov said tourism development is directly linked to the creation of favorable infrastructure, and ordered to consider this issue while preparing transport infrastructure development program.
"Kazakhstan has a vast territory with potentially attractive tourist areas. Implementation of this Concept will allow to create new jobs and a profitable business sphere in the country," the Prime Minister said.
