Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 12
By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:
The first two batches of Azerbaijani jams have been exported to the US market, a source in Azexport e-trading platform told Trend.
“To supply the products to the US, the Azerbaijani producer received a corresponding certificate of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA),” the source added.
"Presently, nine companies have also applied for obtaining this certificate, which will allow them to export their products to the US market,” the source said. “We have recently met with the representatives of the US embassy and USAID, during which this issue was also raised. The US side will render necessary support in speeding up the procedure for obtaining this certificate."
Earlier it was reported that the products will be supplied to the US market through the world's biggest e-trading platform - Amazon.
Many Azerbaijani exporters expressed willingness to supply goods. As the matter mainly rests in food products, the availability of a corresponding certificate is an important component.
As soon as certificates are received, the products will be sent to Amazon warehouses.
Azexport is preparing to implement a joint project "Fulfillment by Azexport" with Amazon, which envisages the rapid supply of the ordered goods to the US.
For this purpose, entrepreneurs will have to keep their products in warehouses in the US.
After getting the order, the products will be supplied directly from the warehouse, rather than from Azerbaijan.
The producers of cosmetic products, beverages, honey, jams, confectionery, textile and other products are ready to join this initiative.
The availability of the quality certificate will simplify the export of Azerbaijani products to other countries.
