By Rashid Shirinov – Trend:
Kazakhstan and Poland intend to develop cooperation between their ports, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.
"One of the dynamic areas of cooperation is transport and transit. The geo-economic location of the two countries is a certain chain of the Silk Road," said Margulan Baymukhan, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Poland.
He noted that the dynamics of container transportation from China to Europe through Poland is growing: last year it was 201,000 containers, and this year it is expected to be 346,000.
"We expect a new direction in 2019 – we will offer the development of cooperation between sea trade ports. This is the Gdansk commercial port of Poland, which now has a huge amount of investment for the development of internal infrastructure, and as potential partners, as well as for exchange of experience, Kazakh ports of Aktau and Kuryk," Baymukhan said.
He also noted that next year Kazakhstan and Poland will continue to increase cooperation in transport and logistics, education, as well as digitalization and agriculture.
