Iran's Jajarm Aluminum Plant produces aluminum ingots

For the first time, the Jajarm plant, located in the Jajarm county of Iran's North Khorasan province, produced aluminum ingots, said Khodadad Gharibpour, an official with Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Trend reports via SHATA.

The annual amount of investments in the Jajarm Aluminum Plant reaches 94 million euros and 2.1 trillion rials (roughly $50 million), Gharibpour said.

The plant employs 2,400 people with a job, 400 of whom are provided with permanent jobs, he said.

He further added that the the output of the Aluminum Plant in the first phase is 40,000 tons, but the production will reach 120,000 tons after the launch of upcoming phases.

Jajarm county of North Khorasan province is not far from the Turkmenistan-Iran border and is home to 40,000 people.
