At the end of 2020, Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Rosselkhoznadzor will open a point for exporting fresh and processed products to Russia in Sharaf, Rashidovsky District, Jizzakh Region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Recently Trend reported that the National Reserve Corporation of Russia (NRC) and Uzbek company BMB Trade Group founded joint venture LLC BMB-NRC Agrologistics for the construction of a modern agrology complex.
Thanks to the foreign direct investment, refrigerators with a capacity of 10,000 tons and free warehouses will be equipped and equipment for shock freezing, processing, calibration, sorting, packaging, drying of fruits and vegetables will be installed there.
All customs, banking, logistics, express laboratories, phytosanitary, veterinary, sanitary and epidemiological, certification and other services will be provided on the spot on a one-stop basis.
Moreover, a Rosselkhoznadzor point will open for prompt and unhindered export of products to Russia on the territory of the agrology complex.
Construction and installation of equipment will be carried out in 2020–2021. Commissioning is scheduled for the 4Q2021. As part of the project, tax and customs benefits will apply.
Currently, according to Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, Russia is in third place in the consumption of Uzbek fruits and vegetables after Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
For eleven months, 233.1 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products worth $151.1 million (13.3 percent of Uzbekistan’s exports) were exported to Russia.
