New housing prices up in Kazakhstan year-on-year

The cost of one square meter of new housing in Kazakhstan amounted to 298,400 tenge (approximately $735) in Jun. 2020, which is 1.9 percent more than in Jun. 2019 and is 0.2 percent more than in Dec, 2019, Trend reports with reference to the data of the Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.

Cost of resale of ready housing equaled 209,522 tenge (approximately $516) per square meter, which is 3.9 percent more than in Jun. 2019 and 0.7 percent more than in Dec. 2019.

Furthermore, the cost of resale of housing without amenities stood at 129,303 tenge (approximately $318) per square meter in Jun. 2020, which is 0.4 percent more than in Dec. 2019 and is 2.6 percent more than in Jun. 2019.

Rent of one square meter of comfortable housing did not change compared to Dec. 2019 having amounted to 1,577 tenge (approximately $3.8).

Over 28 years of independence, 141 million square meters of housing have been commissioned in Kazakhstan. A unified model of housing throughout the country is developed, where the main principle is to increase the affordability of housing, especially for socially sensitive segments of the population.

In order to improve the living conditions of the people and create affordable opportunities, the introduction of new mortgage lending programs, which further increased the availability of housing mortgages, was initiated in the country.
