Entrepreneurs from the UAE, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, Afghanistan, Panama, and Uzbekistan purchased hydrotreated diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, liquefied gas, and calcined petroleum coke during trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
In addition, entrepreneurs from Turkey purchased high-density polyethylene in foreign currency.
Also, Russia, the US, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan bought smooth-colored and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn, and colorless flat glass in foreign currency.
The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $27.9 million.
Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on the exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UAE, Turkey, and others purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of about 7.2 million manat (over $2 million).
In addition, domestic entrepreneurs purchased cotton fiber for sale in the domestic market of the country for more than 41.6 million manat ($11.9 million).
In total, 52 transactions were registered on the exchange last week.
The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
