Iran declares number of enterprises restored in Qom Province

The activities of 17 manufacturing enterprises were restored in Iran's Qom Province during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), the Governor of Qom Province Bahram Sarmast said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to the governor, a total of 25 enterprises’ activities were planned to restore in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021), and the remaining enterprises will be restored by the end of the current Iranian year.

Sarmast added that the spread of the coronavirus pandemic has caused certain problems in the Qom Province. Thus, there are difficulties in the supply of raw materials, the export of goods, exchange liabilities.

“Despite all these problems, there were not suspended the activities of any manufacturing enterprises in Qom Province so far,” he noted.

The activities of 24 manufacturing enterprises were restored in Iran's Qom Province in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020). These enterprises are mainly engaged in the production of food products, footwear, rubber, metals, chemicals, cellulose, mining materials, electrical and electronic products. As many as 240 people were employed with the restoring of the enterprises.

A total of 2,220 enterprises are currently operating in Qom Province and about 56,100 people employee.
