The administrative building and factory of the Ashgabat enterprise of artistic carpet making of Turkmenistan will open in early December, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.
Currently, the construction of the carpet enterprise is at the final stage.
According to the plan, the enterprise will annually produce 1,650 square meters of carpets and carpet products, including those intended for export.
The workshop where handmade carpets will be created occupies 1,000 square meters. On the first floor of the enterprise, there will be a carpet shop, on the second — an exhibition hall, artists ' workshops, a conference hall, and administrative premises. The enterprise will be equipped with a laboratory for painting threads, and a warehouse of raw materials will be located.
The carpet factory was built by the Ruhabatstroy trust on the site of the old carpet factory building.
Turkmen’s carpet is approved as one of the national symbols and declared a state property of the country.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are the production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand carpet-making tradition, and regeneration of old carpet ornaments and products.
