Hong Kong and Georgia sign Comprehensive Double Taxation Agreement

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) in China announced that the Comprehensive Double Taxation Agreement signed with Georgia will enter into force on July 1, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The agreement, signed in October last year, will enter into force upon completion of the relevant ratification procedures.

According to a representative of the SAR government, the agreement will enter into force with respect to Hong Kong taxes for any year of calculation beginning on or after April 1, 2022.

Georgia is participating in the "Belt and Road Initiative", a government spokesman said, adding that the agreement would bring greater certainty on tax liabilities for those doing cross-border business and promote a bilateral trade and investment environment.
