The import volume of goods by the Azerbaijani private companies increased by 14.1 percent from January through September 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's monetary policy report.
“The import volume of goods increased by 6.7 percent during the first nine months of 2021,” the report said.
Import of goods in the public sector decreased by 42 percent - to $0.8 billion, while an increase by 14.1 percent - to $6.6 billion was observed in the private sector.
According to the report, the import of goods by individuals increased by 36.8 percent and amounted to $1 billion.
The export volume from Azerbaijan increased by 38.3 percent from January through September 2021 while the export volume of non-oil products - by 41.1 percent compared to the same period of last year.
According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $23 billion during the reporting period, of which $ 14.6 billion, or 63.5 percent, accounted for export while $8.3 billion, or 36.5 percent, for import.
The foreign trade balance amounted to $6.3 billion from January through September 2021, which is 2.3 times more than from January through September 2020.
