BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 20.02 million tons from January through April 2022, which is 4.4 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.7 million tons in April 2022, which is 16.2 percent less than in April 2021.

Production of copper ores decreased by 0.7 percent during the reporting months, having amounted to 41.6 million tons (10.8 million tons in April 2022, an increase by 4.7 percent compared to the same month in 2021).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 1.7 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 12.4 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 428,200 tons in April 2022, which is 8.7 percent less than in April 2021.

Production of gold ores amounted to 12 million tons over the reporting period, which is 27 percent more than during the same period of 2021. The volume of gold ores produced in April 2022 was 3.8 million tons, which is 54.6 percent more than in April 2021.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 2.6 million tons, which is 8.4 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (605,700 tons in April 2022, down by 0.5 percent compared to April 2021).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 129,300 tons, which is 64.3 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (31,900 tons in April 2022, a decrease of 68.4 percent compared to April 2021).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 1.8 million tons, which is 1.7 percent more than during the same period of 2021 (514,000 tons in April 2022, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to April 2021).
