BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Iran should try to reduce the export of raw materials in non-oil sector by implementing various plans, Secretary General of Iran Entrepreneurs Forum Hamid Reza Ghaznavi said at press conference, Trend reports citing ISNA.
“Thus, raw materials accounted for 30 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports for the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), the value of which is about $7.3 billion,” Ghaznavi said.
The secretary general added that due to the ongoing drought in the country in recent years, and the inappropriate situation of agriculture and animal husbandry, serious steps should be taken on the industrialization of the country.
“In this direction, the successful experiences of countries such as South Korea, Germany, Japan and Türkiye can be used,” he noted.
According to Ghaznavi, Iranian government should provide special support in connection with the reducing bank interest and finance, the duty on the import of needed raw materials, and preventing the import of similar products manufactured domestically in the country.
Within 7 months, Iran's total non-oil exports amounted to 61.3 million tons worth $28.4 billion, which is an increase of 5.6 percent in value, while a decrease of 18.2 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
