Updating of the Baladjary Steam and Wash Station is completed, the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend. The project has been implemented in the framework of the EBRD loan program “Rehabilitation of the Trans-Caucasus Railway”, the cost of which is $20,2 million.
Commissioning of the Wash Station is scheduled for late October. The station’s reconstruction will enable to daily internal washing of 250 tanks. There will be also the workshop for the exterior washing of 24 tanks per day. A new station will clean and recycle 1000 cubic meters of water a day.
The construction of the new station is performed by the railway sector specialists of the Yolneqliyyatservis Department of the Azerbaijan’s Transport Ministry, and the project’s contractor is the Italian Codest company, which is to deliver and install the main cleaning equipment. The price of the contract signed between the Azerbaijan State Railway and Codest is 5,1 million Euro.
