Volume of exchange currency market reduces by 32.7% in Jan

The Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BICE) determined five leading operators of the hard currency exchange market on the results of trading in currency section of BICE in January 2006. The list of leading banks includes the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), Bank of Baku, Bank Respublika, Bank Standard and UniBank. From the total deals concluded in the currency section of BICE 32.78% fell to IBA, 6.97% - Bank of Baku , 4.31% - Bank Standard , 3.84% - Bank Respublika, 3.15% - UniBank.

In January the total number of the banks participated in trading of currency section of BICE was 24. Over accounting period the Exchange Electron Trading System (EETS) held 34 trading sessions and registered 80 deals. The volume of trading on USD comprised 65,290m AZN or $71,312m. No deals were registered on euro and Russian rubles. The volume of trading in the currency section reduced by $34.61m or 32.7% as compared December.
